Paint Corrections
Remove swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation for a flawless, showroom finish.
Paint correction is a multi-stage process designed to permanently remove defects from the vehicle’s clear coat. At Apex Detailing, this begins with a thorough decontamination wash to strip away dirt, oils, and road film, followed by iron and tar removers to dissolve embedded particles. A clay bar treatment is then used to shear off bonded contaminants that standard washing cannot remove, leaving a perfectly clean surface for correction.
Once prepped, we assess paint thickness with a gauge to ensure safe working parameters. Correction is performed using dual-action or rotary polishers, a range of cutting and polishing pads, and precision-matched compounds. Depending on the condition, this may require multiple stages—starting with aggressive cutting passes and finishing with ultra-fine polishes to refine clarity.
The end result is a paint surface with restored depth, color accuracy, and optical sharpness, creating a true mirror-like finish. After correction, the surface is ideally prepared for advanced protection such as Gtechniq ceramic coatings, which lock in the perfected finish and provide long-term resistance against UV damage, etching, and environmental damage.
